It is not uncommon for parents, and understandably so, to hand over a smartphone or an iPad to a cranky child in the hope of some momentary peace. During the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown, this usual diversion by parents has assumed a new dimension. Children are now needed to be online to study. So parents need to hand over that gadget without having time to think of the guilt associated with it.
